After a strong showing in practice Nick Chu believed that there was pace in the car to win today.
"P3 isn't really where we want to be, but we're starting further ahead tomorrow. It all comes down to the first part of the race, where I believe we have the right car for the job [...] A win is definitely possible tomorrow", the defending champion said to the press after practice ended.

A strong start in the first lap and a poor first stint from Garuda Racing Team's Ingledew solidified Chu's lead in the opening stages of the race. The race thus unfolded when Ingledew's team chose to pit early for mediums, a gamble that eventually proved its worth as by the midpoint of the race the British EPS superstar closed the gap after an impressive charge for the lead. Both cars pitted again on lap 33 for soft tyres, when disaster struck Chu as a refuelling mistake let Ingledew pip Chu in the pits. The stricken driver reprimanded his team on the radio for it's mistake "We can't do this!".

A crash from Archer's Alex Rodgers had the strategists on the edge of their seat, as this would throw a spanner in the works for the leading drivers, but he managed to pull the car to safety and the race had no need to be interrupted by a safety car.

On lap 35 the race flared up, as Chu caught up to Inglewood and overtook her on the back straight, though the lead was short lived as the English veteran managed to retake the position on the start-finish straight and a late lounge secured the lead. Wheel to wheel racing kept the viewers on their toes as the two fought in a rare battle for the lead, eventually Chu regaining the position two laps later. The overjoyed Romanians saw their superstar driver win the German EPS Race.

"A great race, we did very good. [...] [I can't] thank the team back at the factory enough!" - Nick CHU, Rovel Racing Team.
"The team did an amazing job, this wasn't our race to win, we knew Garuda's car is better suited to shorter, more technical tracks. We've come a long way and I can't wait to get back to the factory and thank everybody! But the season is far from over and a lot of work is still due. Nick drove an outstanding race today." - John Ion Popoviciu, Team Principal.
"We did all we could, we could've definitely won today, but I was stuck in trafic early on and couldn't close the gap. [...] The car has the potential for victory, it's unfortunate to come second after all." - Laura Ingledew, Garuda's driver.
"[It was a] tough race, I felt like I didn't have the pace today, a P3 is a decent result but I can't say I'm pleased. We've got a lot of work to do." - Paul Tolisso, Garuda Racing Team's driver.

The freshly demoted outfit did score the most points today and are leading the Constructos Championship, widening the margin to Rovel Racing, "It's not a win on track, but we've had a great result overall" said Martin Neumann, Garuda's Team Principal, "Our morale was quite low after we've been demoted from the Asian Pacific Series, but we're positive we're going to join APS again next year.", the principal added.

Eastwood Motorsport finished P4 and P5 respectively, a return to form. "A good result overall, we're pleased with it, but we're aiming to win and we're working hard on that" said the Team Principal, Vasily Ivanov. It's heavily debated as to if he's going to lead the British outfit at the start of the next season, as Eastwood failed to meet the expectations of the fans and insider sources indicate that the team owners aren't happy with the results. Two seasons in a row the team failed to deliver consistent podiums, thus Vasily needs to see his drivers on the podium.

The brazilian Eduardo Melo finished a respectable P7, between the Krugers: "It's a decent result [...], I'm happy with how the race turned out." Silva's driver hopes for another good season "We've had a great season last year, and I think there is potential for more this season."

It wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for Rovel, as Moe Furuzuka ended up in P9. "I'm happy for the team. I'm [personally] not as satisfied, but it's a better showing than last year, for sure. We've [got to] stay positive." Furuzuka joined the team last season when the team singed both Nick Chu and her to bring its team to an unexpected P3 in the championship, and take the former underdogs to their first Driver's Championship trophy with Chu. "I've got a lot of work to do, we are in the running for the Constructors this year, and we've got the car and the team to back us up. I've got my head up and we will [be continuing] to figure out what we need to improve to get the results we want."

Next race, the Milan GP, is set to be another walkout victory as it was last year for the blazing quick Rovel powerhouse.
